Just chillin’ in ma room with bae (pringles).

So last night at around 11pm I received a notification on my phone telling me that I had been nominated for ‘The Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award’. Thanks A Teenage Diary Online! Was super excited to see this – an award?! What is this?! For what unfathomable reason could I have won an award?! COOL. (Oomph. Just adding this bit a day later as I got another nomination thank you thank you thank you My Irrelevant Thoughts!)

So anyway, I wasn’t really too sure what it was, so I’ve been scouring the internet this morning and it appears that I’m not the only one who didn’t know what it actually means/acknowledges. People just tend to do the award but don’t give an explanation of it! So I have managed to find some kind of definition, because I was pretty interested, you know, sort of wanted to know what award I was writing for/why I was nominated! I found something along these lines: ‘The Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award’ recognises unique voices of independent women bloggers from around the world. Pretty cool right? Honoured that anyone could think I have a ‘unique voice’.

So here goes. Apparently there’s some sort of protocol where I have to write the rules out or something:

Thank the blogger that nominated you and post a link to their site: Thank you so much A Teenage Diary Online for nominating me! I’m incredibly honoured that you think I deserve this! I’m sure you deserved it more! Thank you My Irrelevant Thoughts! You guys are awesome).

Put the award logo on your site:

There was another logo which I guess is supposed to be the logo but…well this one was prettier and cooler.

– Nominate Seven Blogs: I thought super hard about this one and who I wanted to nominate. Each one of these blogs has brought me joy, insight, inspiration or love in pretty much any way possible.

01: Every Word You Say

02: Pieces of Bipolar

03: Brighton Bipolar

04: Logic Love Letters and Lips

05: Recipes for Life

06: Peas and Cougars

07: Ysis Lorenna

08: Rhea Reads Words

09: Sprinkle of Glitter

Seven is quite a random number to nominate and I prefer the number nine. So nine it will be.

Answer the questions: Here gooooeeesss.

In one word, how would you like your readers to describe your blog?

I like to think that my blog is centrally focussed on helping change the world’s outlook on mental health/learning disabilities. However I try to include other little bits in here and there when I can to be a little more versatile! I hope to build it up so I have a baseline of all kinds of topics lining my blog. It’s incredibly important for me though to make sure my blog’s primary importance will always be to help others feel like they belong and that they should never change who they are for anyone. The obstacles that we must overcome in life are tests that make us who we are. That’s the sort of ‘motto’ I’m trying to live by at the moment! I don’t hide who I am and neither should you.

Which is your most favourite among your blog posts? Why?

Um. Uhh. Mmmmmmprobably the first one. Not because of the writing. I mean I obviously hope its alright but I haven’t actually gone back and read it at all since I wrote it! I just think it’s got to be my favourite because it’s the one that started my blog! It started something that I’m really loving in life right now. So yeah, definitely my first one, here’s a link if you want to re-read it (unlike me haha): A is for ADHD.

What, who inspires most of your blog posts?

Well, I guess it’s natural that the more lovin’ ya get, the more you want to write. So you guys, all my readers, inspire me because when you like/comment/follow and all that lovely stuff, it just really means the world to me! I actually feel like I’m doing something good and I never dreamt I could help others! My inspiration for writing it in the first place was just to vent my feelings and thought well, if it helps others too then that’s great. And some of you are saying that is has. So now my inspiration is to continue helping, to try to change something that the rest of the public just ignore. So yeah, you guys and helping in whatever way I can is what inspires my writing.

What do you aspire to accomplish this year?

Oooomph. Big question. Urm. Well as you guys probably know – to change the world! Haha I know it’s very ambitious but, baby steps. With my survey results I can try to do something with regard to my school first. Then another. And another. I dunno man, I’m passionate about changing the way people look at mental health, and the way to do that is through awareness among schools and pupils, in my opinion. If kids were to be taught to accept these things, there wouldn’t be such a huge stigma. I won’t go into a rant about it now as you know what I’m like. I’ll write for hours. But basically to explain everything to others. People may not want to hear – but it’s incredibly important that they do. Support people through tough times so that their lives can get back to normality, back to being their own , within their control again. So basically, to get this blog and it’s values noticed by as many people as possible and to inspire change. And obviously to hopefully get good grades in my exams and get to the uni of my choice and start my future in as good-a-stead as possible.

What do you aspire to learn this year?

I want to learn skills for life. How to vote, pay taxes, pay electricity and water bills, how to eat healthily, how to get my ADHD under control, learn about other mental illnesses in detail so I can help people who don’t only suffer from the same things as me. Know more stats etc about schools and their policies so I can be as knowledgable as possible. Learn what kind of exercise I can actually do vaguely well. Learn how to get a job and how to get on better with people. How to be more social and how others feel when they’re around me – so I can change the bad stuff. Haha that’s just about it.

What is your most favourite book? Why?

Ooooh uhhh…this one’s hard too. I do English A-Level but unfortunately I’m pretty guilty of not really reading that much. Doesn’t make sense, I know. I’m an English student! I love writing. Reading I like but not so much because I kinda struggle with it. I read things and it sometimes takes me a couple of times reading the same sentence for it to go in. I love to read when the book is like, for younger people because you don’t really have to think about the writing and the vocab isn’t to difficult to get. Like Harry Potter. More specifically Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone! Duh! I guess JK. Rowling is sorta my idol. I loved Harry Potter because it totally transported me out of my own life and into Hogwarts with the Great Hall, Hogsmeade and the marble staircase (and Malfoy, my secret crush)! Actually that’s really bad isn’t it! Malfoy is horrible why on earth did I have a crush on him?! Anyway, I digress. I liked Harry Potter because I wasn’t constantly stopping to look up a word, or trying to see the ‘inner meaning’ like we have to do in class. It was just reading. Real reading and enjoyment! And if some of you haven’t already seen, I’m hoping to go to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London for my 18th! Yeah it’s PG blah blah blah but shh! Don’t care! Here’s the post where I talk about this in case you’re interested: MY Summer Goals Tag!

What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?

Um. Written a letter to Kate Middleton? Hmm maybe that’s not courageous…that’s more proud (more details of this may/may not come over summer). Maybe stepping up and telling someone how I was feeling for the first time, and getting help for the first time. I remember I told the matron at school that I thought there was something wrong with me, and I thought that it was bipolar disorder. So I went to the doctor, and she said I didn’t have bipolar, but I did have anxiety. I dunno, maybe that’s not the most courageous, though. Oh, I know I know I know!!! Singing a solo in front of the whole school. Sounds silly but was a really big deal for me. For my whole life I have refused to ever sing in front of anyone. But I forced myself as I was given the solo. Terrifying but awesome. I finally overcame my worst fear – my parents were soooooo proud and so was I!

If you could be a superhero, what would be your superpower?

Deffo and without a doubt flying. The flying dream is the coolest dream ever and if real flying feels like that – well that would jus be sick now wouldn’t it. Sick in a good way.

Who is your female role model?

Louise Pentland, I think. As well as my sister. Louise because she is inspiring, beautiful, strong and independent. And so freakin’ kind! And she has the world’s cutest daughter, Darcy. You can check out her blog here: Sprinkle of Glitter Blog and you can check out her YouTube here if you prefer the visual way o’ learnin’: Sprinkle of Glitter Youtube. Decide for yourselves but you shouldn’t need to because I’ve told you she’s awesome. Hehe. And my sister, Anna, because she’s twelve and already been through more than anyone I know, yet still manages to do absolutely everything with a HUGE smile on her face :). She doesn’t have a blog firstly because she’s twelve and prefers rollerskating and karate. Secondly because she hates writing.

That’s all the questions apparently! These seem to vary from site-to-site but I just went with the ones from the tag I got. Nominees I hope you enjoy :).

And now for the routine goodbye, cordialement.
